Hi,
Im trying to find out a paint code / name, for the brown used on some early wheel rims . Any help appreciated ta

I assume the colour you mean is the brown used on the 3.5" Cooper S wheels on some of the works cars, 33EJB had them at one time. I don't think it was ever a body colour as it seems to have a semi-matt finish, like the primer that new panels have, probably the closest would be Faun Brown, which was around in the early 70's. (It could be Fawn Brown, I have found 2 spellings for it

I agree that it was just the primer coat. My "S" was just primer on the inside of the wheels and finish colour on the outside only. This isn't a great photo but it does show the original brown primer finish.

Think this colour of primer was common back in the day, i had a nos mk1 escort quarter it was the same brown colour

Go to a halfords store
as to have a 60's brown thats close mixed up then ask the person mixing it to add 15% 9001 matting agent to the paint and it will come out matt (y)
