VITA

Post by Astro »

the actual Retro Course (French Motorsport Magazine) displays the VITA mini that won the British hill climb championship in 1968 and 69. The car is in Colmar since 1978 and was invited this year to join the Shelsley Walsh hill climb. Sorry but it will not be allowed to copy an actual magazine :(

You are right. I was a bit too fast reading it. This year they tried another climb in southern France and had problems and are now looking for a solution. Perhaps I will have an opportunity to see the car. :D

just assembling some information, I have question. Here

http://www.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http ... CCUQrQMwAQ

is a picture of the original car (Jeff's 1967 Car (before the roof chop) ). BRT 1275, is this the real number plate or is it just advertisement?

its just a made up plate

it doesn't follow the format for a uk issue plate as they where a six digit plate maximum in those days, so two letters / four numbers or vica-versa

its only in the last ten years or so that the plates went to seven digits, and they are two letters / two numbers / three letters
should you wish, you can contact me on rich@minispares.com

It also had 'BRT 970S' on the plate at one point, 'Development Vehicle' written across the boot lid and the orange BRT tuning fork emblem on the side. That's about as far as BRT went in advertising! Even the 'British Vita Racing' script on the side of the '68 ETCC cars was Alec Poole's doing!

Thank you, that means that the car probably never has been licensed.
