Replacement inner wings

Post by gs.davies »

Can anyone advise on this please?

My car is a November 61 Austin Seven and among many other things it's having a new front end.

Looking at inner wings from mini machine bmh and somerfords and I seem to recall that one or t'other isn't accurate for the car. Which was it, and what are the differences I need to look out for?

Cheers,
Gary.

Everyone is selling the same inner wings but M-Machine modify them to proper MK1 spec.

The BMH panels are probably based off late van tooling and come with dimples for MK3 heater intake and air vents as well as the lump to clear a MK3 wiper motor. There are also a few holes that aren't correct depending on the vehicles age.

I modified a pair for a Crayford a while ago.

That's great, thanks for the reply. Probably best to go for the m-machine ones then.

I also need a boot floor - huge price difference between bmh and m-machine, I presume there's a few differences here as well?

Yes the BMH panel is the same skin as an MPI Mini. I believe M-Machine add the spare wheel locator, tank stand, modify the seat base and the area that the fuel hose goes through.

The devils in the detail. My floor also has a hole for the fuel tank drain tap. Again, looks like I'm better off with the m-machine panel.

Thanks again.
