If it was any good, at £27K, that Red S looks like it went for more of an "Enthusiast driven price" rather than a "Speculator driven price".....

VdP 4R, even has a tow bar, could be a nice buy if the price is ok.

You could re-create the one that BMC Competitions Dept used as a rally support vehicle in the 1960s 8-) Remarkable to find one that hasn't rusted away now. They did suffer terribly from rust :|

that’s what I was thinking. If I had a bigger garage i might have made a bid. Only down side is it’s wedding white.

Plus commission. Still cheap compared to a Mk1 but the rot looked pretty advanced.

Looked to me like someone had already started a restoration -of sorts and it'd got the better of him. Look at the windscreen scuttle panel. Then he'd ;et the original wheels go for some reason and then let the car go.......... None of the usual police ..'one careful owner' type holes in the dash panel so far as I can see.

Anyone know where (U)BD was registered?

This one looks like it has engine and brakes from a 1275 Cooper S.

The interior and the white roof really stand out as wrong on that traveller to say nothing of the red block.

That is very cheap at £3,200. 11 SEK to 1 GBP at the moment.

Another quite nice condition Mk1 S on BAT
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967- ... ooper-s-18

Wouldn’t take too much to get it back to standard spec - ditch the later plastic arches and wheels etc.

Historics have a fine selection of cars on offer this weekend

https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auct ... 9-25/cars/

They include a tidy looking Mk3 S

A prototype TR8 convertible with 73 miles on the clock. Just shoes how bad storage can wreck a car.

And a low mileage MG Montego, ideal for those who do not want to own a car that is full of reliable electrics

Loving that MG Montego, wonder how much it will make?

Those 2.0EFI Montegos and Maestros were about the last cars we sold as a BL/Rover dealer. The went very well and were quite a car to drive but unfortunately the build quality was crap :x I thought quite seriously about buying a used one for myself but they were falling to bits by the time they were a couple of years old and I bought a GL5 Passat instead. Rare cars now.

I wonder what the real story is with the TR8

Such a strange tale on the listing you would have thought a collector would have stored it better and also tried to sell it on long ago

The TR7/8 shape and look imo have aged quite gracefully still look okay today, apart from the bumpers as many wedge shape cars from the 70's and 80's the bumpers look like a complete ill fitting after thought.

A detail that a lot of car builders from over the pond go to great lenghs to improve upon
