Google is your friend: http://www.blockleytyre.com/

As they haven't released a price yet you might have to wait patiently though.

Just spoke to Julian Majzub at Blockley. It seems that these people are the rubber technology specialist people that the spares suppliers ought to be looking towards when ordering rubber replacement parts. I'm ordering some heavy duty XXL condoms too

Although the tyre will be tubeless, they're also introducing a quality Butyl 10" inner tube so widens the application to tube type rims.
Having experienced a high speed motorway blow out with a failed tube in a mini tyre  this is also very good news !

Cheers

Nick :)

Took a look at these yesterday at the NEC, very nice...the fact they are steel banded is a plus for me (not sure the aquajets are), they seemed to have a lot of mini interest...

£75 ea in the Jan 2019 price list and they are on their way

165 available at the same price..

Are they available now? Has anyone tried them out?

Good news re price. They will be a keen competition for the Aquajets if they perform well.

Thanks.

Blockley are at the London Classic Car Show with a sample and it's on their latest price list - £63 + VAT & delivery. Same price for the 165 which is to follow.

They're on a ship on the way from Indonesia and he hopes to have them on sale later this month or March.

I think this is the Future Mini Tyre for us with Road Minis & they could make good as a Rally Tyre for the Mini ?

Well our current 145 options are pretty poor.

We spent quite a while chatting with Julian and he is very confident that the tyre will prove superior to anything else on the market in the 145 size. He does give the genuine impression of someone who is keen to provide the enthusiast with a good product and not just make a profit. He maintains that he goes to great lengths to find the right supplier to manufacture the tyres to the quality he demands.

He has been in business for 20 plus years on the same business model so it all seems very plausible. Just one quote from the website ( https://www.blockleytyre.com/ ) :

Our purpose is to produce the very best product that it is possible to make, with no shortcuts or cost savings in either our tooling, production or attention to detail. If this was not the case there would be no point in producing the Blockley range of steel belted radial tyres.

We suggest customers scrub their tyres in order to remove any mould release agent from the surface - something any motorcyclist you meet would know all about. This process can occur quickly, however we would suggest anything up to 100km.

After scrubbing in you can really take advantage of the exceptional grip and overall handling of these superb tyres in both wet and dry, along with our authentic period look. So much so that even after driving for circa 1,000 miles, if you are not convinced, you can return the tyres and we will refund the purchase price of your tyres in full, postage and fitting costs excluded.

Provided the ship doesn't sink or catch fire en route (there have been a few container ship fires lately) then doubtless some of these tyres will make it onto the track at Blyton in which case all will be revealed...

Kev and I also spoke with Julian for a while and he is certainly confident about the quality. He pointed out it's taken a bit longer than he'd have liked, and anticipated, but he wanted to find someone who would make them twin belted as he wanted, and he wasn't prepared to offer them if he wasn't happy with the design.

Other little details like small gaps in the central tread line to reduce noise etc have been incorporated. they do have a very nice look to them.

He currently has them on offer at £75 each inc VAT with a 1000 mile money back guarantee if you aren't happy with them

Hard to argue with that.

Al
