I put Castleton in, my iPad corrected it I thought I'd put it right, my fault
I worked down the Speedwell Cavern part time in the early 60s whilst at school as a guide and also as a pusher using my feet on the roof of the tunnel to propell the boat whilst lying on a bed
Happy days

On my doorstep really...….Hope and Castleton are beautiful villages....I mountain bike, walk, motorbike, and drive minis there regularly. A lovely part of the country.

What was the big hotel in Hope where there used to be a good classic car turn out in the summer months, the Marquis of Granby? Been derelict a long while now. On the subject of Castleton, I wonder if they sell Speedwell underpants in the Speedwell Cavern gift shop?

The hotel in Hope is the Old Hall it was the head quarters of the North Midland Motor Club
Every year they held a motor show whlch was very popular The landlord Jack Jones was an MG enthusiast and one night introduced me to two young ladies having trouble with their MGB V8 I thought one was the girl for me
That was 43 years ago and we've been married for the last 41
I only went out for a pint
