After a long (long.....long......) wait, I realised my pal in the workshop was in no hurry to knock up my bent tubes for the rear body, so with the students disappeared on holiday, I popped down this afternoon, and in about 1/2 an hour made the 2 hoops I'd been waiting on all this time. Should have just done it months ago!

So, this evening I set the jig up and started to fit them, but of course any progress must be met with a failure, and this time it was those stupid wee gas bottles which ran out (as they always do)

Must get bigger bottle, but the pain is that as it's a spaceframe, I don't actually have much welding to do. Still, it's always handy to have.

Anyway - here's tonight's progress (only tacked on so far)

I'm not bad at the cutting / folding / shaping, but my welding isn't great sadly.

However, I've just been out to pick up a bottle of Hobbyweld gas, so m now good to go. This thing won't know what's hit it!

Fingers crossed I can get it all tacked up and then once I get the engine out I can turn the frame over to weld it all up properly, maybe even by the end of the holidays.

ha ha, yeah right!

To test the increased appeal arising from the rear end, it's now back on Evil bay to tempt all those who's new year resolution is:

"I must build that racing car project I've always promised myself" or
"I must take up historic hillclimbing in 2016, and prices are only going up. By next year it may be too late" or
"I must get something to get me out the house - If her mother doesn't go home soon, I'm gonna........."

If one or all of these apply to you or your loved ones, do get in touch.

I have a moke itch that needs scratching!

Happy new year to all!

Bit more progress today - despite running out of wire half an hour in.....

1 trip to Helfrauds later, and back to it - Roll bar stay completed, fuel tank support frame in (It'll get rubber foam between tank and the frame) and top rear shock mounts in place.

Not a bad old day's progress, all in all.

(loads of watchers on ebay, but no offers so far)

Crash! That was the sound of a massive price drop.

£2500 (I've got a new road car project lined up to replace it)

Just for completeness, here's couple of pics of the mould, the first time I've seen it, as it's been in store at the moulders, but it's here to go with the car.
