Bit of footage here, Rauno door handling with the Renault. As one of the earliest racers of a Mini I hope Brian Redman's still racing in two years time and he can be found a decent Mini to drive (lumbered with the silver Merc this year)

OK

Important stuff this.......

my Sky+ doesn't appear to agree with the proposed TV coverage sugested by some previous posters. The allotted times appear to be (on my TV guide anyway) dedicated to the Rugby World Cup.

Although Martin Johnson and his men have my full support at this time, I will be watching them live if possible, so recorded highlights of Goodwood 2011 is what I am actively looking for at this time.....

Anyone....? :?

I found the coverage on the 27th, 8pm on ITV4, if you have a look at the Goodwood website I think they have issued a correction now

Here are a couple of shots of "Swifty" giving the Galaxie a hard time and one of Andy. Well done Andy, car looked and sounded great.
The Minis sound great on open pipes, brings back real good memories.

So as you dont have to look at the whole albumn, the pictures in question are 5500/01/02 and 10. but you might find the others interesting.

So Barrie was driving the red Galaxie. Impressive that he can handle all the types of racecars that he obviously does.

I wish I could've been there.... :(

here's a load of my 'happy snaps' from the weekend. (and in no particular order)

Batch 1.

Image

Lovely Falcon in the pre '66 carpark

Image

Mini in St Mary's Trophy

Image

I was dissapointed that this Saab didn't 'sing' like the other 2 stroke examples I've heard race

Image

are these cars known by chassis number, or postcode?

Image

I'd have happily driven this one home!

Image

post '66, but I'd forgive it!

Running repairs to a 23

Image

I always imagined that Gordon Keeble were the only cars with Tortoises son the badge. Not so, it seems.

Image

Image

perhaps this was the only car admitting to planning on demonstrating stock car racing tactics at the start of the weekend?

We were walking behind Murray Walker who was chatting to Amanda Stretton, only to be interupted by a rowdy group of 'lads' yelling "Murray, Murray, Murray!" I was very impressed with his tollerance, as he merely glanced over, smiled, said a cheery "hello" and walked on. I couldn't be arsed with that on a daily basis!

The lovely Falcon Sprint at the beginning belongs to an old work mate of mine Mark Lewis, he's one of the talented engine builders at R S Williams. He bought the car out of the USA some years ago, it has a fantastic "sun kissed" paint job. 8-)
