You're right about the grille positioning - one of the many things amiss with that Pickup in Minworld recently (along with seats, carpets, saloon fresh air heater, mouldings on the wings, door cards, wing mirrors, bright strip round the windscreen etc....). Patina...?

I havent been slacking, im getting the prep done in my spare time, and getting on pretty well. A while off paint yet as i want to make sure everything is straight and fitting nice.

Started on the most time consuming job, getting both sides nice and straight after the lower repairs were done.

The whole car is in high build primer now so alot of guide coating, blocking, filling if needed and more blocking.

Should have some more updates soon.

I thought that was a Willow Green colour coat! As you say, it is a lot of wok getting the sides looking dead straight.
It is coming on VERY well 8-)

My first thoughts was that it was top coat colour too !!

This is a fantastic build thread .. credit to you Harry.

The grille insert issue was one I was very careful about when I did LHJ 38P. It wasn't difficult to get right, just a bit time consuming to linish and file the insert to sit at the correct depth, then braze all around.

Thanks for the positive comments, unfortunately the primer will not be the colour the paint goes onto as i will be putting MIPA epoxy over the top once everything is finished.

I copied the grille from the M-machine one, i know it is not 100% correct but i am going to have to go with it now, the problem is in a year (or two) i hope to have the pickup and van sat next to each other in paint. And maybe some parts on it also.

I will be buying a bulk batch of willow green max mayer paint so i dont get colour shade issues between the two cars.

I'm just looking at the progress you've made in 7 months, and feel more than a little ashamed given that since I got mine back I've made NO progress on it :-D

It's looking amazing though

I was thinking exactly the same! Incredible progress and makes me feel a little bad about how much progress I've been making on mine...

Hi Dan,

Unfortunately not in paint yet, i have done a huge amount of bodywork to the van to get it as straight and looking lovely, but it is taking me alot of time. I will get there though!
