Well after much deliberation i have decided to commission a honda subframe kit for the build. I had alot of teething issues with the engine and this way i will (hopefully) get a turn key, reliable mini which i can put to good use. I know it may not be to the taste of alot of the forum users, but i am going to keep the thread going so if anyone in the future wants to do something like this, then a few of my touches / mistakes could be of use.
The engine has gone to a new owner, who is much better than that sort of stuff than me, and i can keep going with bolting bits on and best of all welding/ bodywork and painting.
I am going to be using potential motorsports D16 kit, uses mini suspension components, a new non mini subframe and should be around 130BHP with a remap.
So first thing is first, i have stripped the wiring out of the car, as i have a new idea to dramatically reduce wiring and simplify the system:
I want to use the fuel tank and have an external pump and filter setup like i had previously, so i drilled out the single outlet and removed the old pipe and filter section:
Got the holes ready for the 2x AN-6 fittings to be welded in:
My kit is booked in to be built in February, so in the meantime i am going to be doing as much prep as i can.
