That car was Cardinal Red about a year ago, it took a while to sell, if it did? Perhaps it's gone through a few traders now and someone's trying their luck with a black paint job. Same about the FSO Polenez lighting and the Daimler D on the bonnet

Yes - this car is a total mish mash of parts that never was fitted to a proper Wood & Pickett.

The article in the Min mag even stated, that the owner did his own front.

there are loads of wrong details on it  they moved the WP badge on the boot around a few times, and its STILL not in the correct position

Its a grill badge, and even "IF" it was a correct WP dealer badge, its fitted to far up

wont go into all the other wrong details, or I need to change my forum name to Grumpy ;)

I honestly dont know ? i once wrote one of the previus sellers, and asked if it had a job no under the ashtray, or some other easy accessable part ?

Never got a reply. The old article didnt mention anything about history on the car :?:

it also said that some former W&P imploie helped with the resto job.

Cant see any of the cars old/original WP parts ? even the instruments, and all the swithes are new :?

Wood & Pickett Margrave to star at Historics
"Historics is offering this 1969 Wood & Pickett Margrave Morris Mini Cooper S MkII at no reserve at its 7 June sale. Aside from being a proper rarity at auction, the car has an interesting ownership history, having passed through the hands of Denny Laine of the Moody Blues and John Hammel, Sir Paul McCartney’s guitar technician."

Some W&P features on this Mk3 'S', seats, trim but especially the rear seat base modification : http://coopersmk3.blogspot.hu/

If it is a W&P Mk3 it'll be a rare thing.

The interior panels look similar to the W&P 1275 that was at Beaulieu.

This car is a one family owned example that was originally finished in silver with 10" wheels.

doesn't show up on any of the searches, so its either long dead, exported years ago, or has been in long term storage pre 1983

This looks to be a nice find, odd colour combo though ....

http://maximummini.blogspot.co.uk/2014/ ... rface.html

What a shame the conversion records were lost, they seemingly did alot of Mini Clubman/1275Gts in the 70's alright and these cars still keep turning up !

If this was a W&P conversion then it's one of he earliest Clubmans I've seen. Appeared on an episode 'Special Branch' TV series.
