Me and Janet went as spectators in the plastic pig
, Another great day , even the rain didn't stop the enthusiasm , though it did eventually stop for the afternoons hillclimb , another pig there as well , The pig stopped charging on the way there and guess what i forgot about it
!!!!!!! ( ask Rich from Minispares about the spark plug ) until i moved it nearer to the paddocks at 6:30 pm where we were going to stop for the barbie , Hah if i leave until after the barbie ill need lights on !!! and i wont make it home , No Barbie but got home OK ,Showing 10 on the voltmeter and the red light on , I think its time to swap to a Alternator .

Brilliant day yesterday despite the horrendous weather in the morning. Great to catch up again as well with some forum members.
Some amazing times in the wet only achieved by witchcraft by everybody (apart from me
), but realised I was well down on power with an unusual constant engine misfire. Just checked the car over this morning and 1 HT lead is stuffed completely and the others are virtually just hanging on in there.? I’ve got a swiftune electronic dizzy so I think it’s fried the leads, need to upgrade them obviously.
Sounded a lot better this morning on a temporary replacement set.
Hope everybody else got back ok.

Can't upload any photos until tomorrow, but engine is out and stripped and I have had possibly the luckiest escape ever in my history of engine blow ups in my race car.......
Let's put it this way.....
Thank god that bloke crashed his austin 7, cos if there had been time for another run I don't think I would have got away with what I have done!!!!!

I had a good day wondering around the track, that hill gets steeper every year. Good to meet up with everyone, took a few naps and shot a bot of video. The image stabilisation has switched off on my video so I have spent today salvaging (processing) the footage so its watchable. Still will be posted up tomorrow.
I didn't catch any embarrassing moments this year so you are all safe from any piss taking.

Arrrrr well I have it on in-car Richard! ... I may upload tomorrow !
And the reason I spun ...... for some reason I thought I could take the corner with one hand on the wheel tighten my bloody belts half way up the new curb on the first corner .....
Some decent tyres, slightly softer and correct tyre pressures sorted the job out as the day went on !
Thanks for the time and effort on the video Stu, awesome , by Christ them last few cars have some bloody umph !

Thanks to Mr and Mrs Forster, and the other mini owners for making it a great weekend and another great event.
Lets see if we can encourage even more entrants for August.
Probably the only hill climb to have a Hornet 1,2,3 ( if only briefly
)

Well, what can I say?
What a great days fun & games, the weather despite a tricky start came good in the end. The Old class record was broken by the top seven finishers! And C19 was by far the most well supported, competitive, & fun class of the event. "All the Minis" even received special praise during the dishing out of the trophies at the end of the day.
Matt Clarke certainly showed us how a Mini should be peddled!
The weather even held off for our barbie in the evening, I was only sorry that Mr & Mrs Goff had to dash due to their lack of a charge light.
On the whole a really good days fun & games & as has already been said I am hoping that we will be able to do it all again in August, I have already heard from a number of people who say that they hope to make it then too. We will just have to hope that Matt is already booked in somewhere else that weekend
Thanks to everyone who attended & made it such a fun day.

as stus video shows, my car was smoking bad, thought it had broke a ring, it was getting worse and worse as the day went on, wouldn't start, felt flat, sounded flat, was getting slower and slower - pretty crap really.
the final run it sounded like it was on three and a half cylinders, but I though it was due to the oil, as all day it seemed to foul a plug, then clean its self up.
took the motor out yesterday morning to see what was going on.....
took the rocker cover off, and...…..
the first thing I see is.....
(and i promise, this wasnt in any way staged, or moved, this is where the bit was....)
again, no fake news, this is exactly how the bits where jammed together when the rockers came off.......
i reckon one more run and the whole thing would have failed, which would have really spoiled my day.......
lucky or what!!!! -
in other news
engine is fully stripped
bores are shagged - i can only come to the conclusion is that they where worse than i though when i re rung it
