my dad owns this car now, fortunately the white wall tyres are long gone

still has the heavily tinted black glass, but only the rear window is still fitted, rest is all wrapped up in card - it would look quite 'pimp' if it was fitted!

Cranbourne Court is right next door to Fernhill Park, where 1AXD the Vanden Plas mini originated.
Arthur and Irene Waite used to live in Fernhill Park and the mini would have still been there around that time.

Must be Nuffield Press just off the Cowley Road Mab. I made it my challenge to find the girl who featured on the light blue Mini Cooper sales brochure and went to see them at 'The Press' as it was known around here. Really great info and super leads and some of the other photos that were taken on the photo shoot. It's a shame I hesitated because they closed it down later. I wonder where all of the zillions of archive material from that place alone went, But traced the photographer and agency and later, the young girl.

Note the disc shields, hydro unit, water pump and other odds and sods on the table.

Good to see the local papers keeping their stock pictures of cars in snow up to date:

Ok, so the report was in 2014 but what's a few years eh?

Great looking car wasn't it for the '69 Tour de France , one of my favourites, shame it ended up a crumpled wreck a few years after that photo was taken.

Damn shame that... wasn't sure if the pic I posted was taken in '69 or not, thought it might have been a later shot.

Couple more oldies..... ;)
