Think all my photobucket pics have finally died now.

Who on earth would pay money for it. It was crap when it was free with all the ads.

1TB on Flickr with no charge? Photobucket is dead and buried.

Are you worried about your account?

Don't be! All of our Plus Members are grandfathered in for 3rd Party Hosting until the end of your current subscription. However, if you want to beat the crowds and upgrade to the Plus 500 now, we'll give you six months on us!
Worried about cost? Rest assured, the price will be prorated depending on your subscription!
Looks like they are loosing customers as they are now offering 6 months free (or 50% off) on their top subscription. With a bit of luck it will be reduced by 100% by the end of the year.

I have no doubt there will be a mass exodus, PB will most likely never recover, it had become very clunky and slow to use anyway, even with a decent 50mb connection and my end it was still torture to do anything

Yes, that Chrome extension works well, thank you.

As an IT veteran I had a feeling some bright spark would find a way around PB's obstacle. There's just too many individuals, communities and other groups worldwide who are suffering badly to let the problem continue.

Of course this extension only helps if you are a Chrome browser user. I wonder if similar fixes are available for other browsers?

So it turns out they've reversed their decision on the third party hosting for now. I'd suggest digging through all the old threads and recovering the photos before they are gone again!
