That's good....but I might leave it a little later to avoid the Friday evening Leeds traffic...bit of a nightmare.

red hot sun, great mix of cars, excellent banter and piss taking, some great times

new class record for dave taylor, 2nd place for a very happy mark forster, 3rd place steve murphy

I'm sure stu has some very good photos and vid's

my gtm is a proper weapon on the hillclimb, that is for sure, if only it had a shorter diff in it.................

Bloody great day..what a cracker. :!: really good to put some faces to names and catch up with a few people as well.
Fantastic quick cars out on the track and I couldn't get anywhere near the quicker cars in my teeny weeny 970. Even Richs 1380 GTM (sorry, I mean1071  ) was rapid.

However all I'm waiting for now is a video showing my missus spinning my car at Esses corner.

Told her not to drive it too fast.   :D

Another brilliant 'mk 1 forum / performance ' day ,18 entries in the class in the end !

Really happy with the 3rd, really wanted a 73, but had to settle for 74.13, quicker than last years record time mind, but the car struggled on the uphill section, just wouldn't rev out, thanks to all the guys for trying to find a solution, maybe sticking carb damper, crap fuel or blocked fuel filter to blame.

Congrats to Mr Taylor, that's things bloody quick , Mark was really on top form with the hornet , but last years winner Johns day spoilt with a misfire , even though he was still 4th ! , Adam put in some excellent runs and glad we didn't have another run cause that red GTM was a coming for us !

Lukes last run moved him up the leader board a lump, after his 7 hour trip ! ,nice run with the new 1071 engine !

It was Hot Hot Hot, my arms and neck are burning. And what a turn out of cars, in just three years Class 19 has grown and grown with a real variety of cars and drivers, thank guys for some excellent track action.

For those who couldn't make it here's a short film of the action from the track.

Fantastic day yesterday. lots of friendly people and great cars.
I am really chuffed with how the 1071 and its tiny 65bhp performed. The low final drive and high revs make up for the lack of power. I'm sure I'll be back for another go!
Thanks Stuart for the great pictures and film
And thanks to everyone who gave me driving advice, good job I didn't beat any of you!!

Hi Folks, back from a very busy weekend!

I would like to thanks everyone who brought their cars down & made this such a memorable event! I was genuinely moved by the number of "old Harewood hands" who came up to me & said how they couldn't remember seeing that many Minis on the hill in Many, Many years! We did our little cars proud!

As always a huge than you to Stu for coming down & recording the event with his beautiful pictures & fantastic video & also a special shout out for Luke who came so far for his first ever event & did brilliantly for his first time out, I hope to see you there again next year.

Other people who deserve an honourable mention are my old friend John North, who unfortunately suffered an engine failure during his first run & Nick W who managed to modify the front of his beautiful S on his last run, he was "flying" at the time though.

Finally as a very proud Dad I must say how pleased I was how Adam did, only having driven the Hornet a couple of times before, I suspect I'm going to be looking in my rear view mirror before too long :)

PS. Its not petrol you can see, its the blurred boot catch, the tanks aren't there, only the caps.

those two photos are ace, shows adams got the 'forster hunch' driving position!

the big disadvantage of harewood is only getting two runs, the big advantage is that you get 8 hours of chatting to people, its a massively social event, more so than even Blyton I think

the hot sun helped, the poor bloke in the ice cream van had a queue of about 30 people non stop all day, I bet his boss was happy!
