i thought this was suppose to be cheap racing !, obviously my idea of cheap is different to others !!, i know people will come and say a Swiftune motor is 25k etc, but what happened to building a car for less than 10k

id say that's about the same value as a 'lower end' historic mini, and you are racing in a full grid of others as well, so it will be good fun

they are fricking slow though

I don't think it's necessarily cheap racing but looks like it can be as you can pretty much enter anything! Fair to say though being competitive has never been cheap! My Hornet was about as cheap as you can build one because the "donor" road car was restored already and I had an engine. Main costs were tank/ cage /wheels/tyres/ARB/shocks/seat and belts. There's no getting round those and I did spend a lot on a decent seat and quality belt. Sub £10K comp Mini seems like a distant memory to me!

William Lynch put this car on pole at the Brands Hatch round of the A Series Challenge last weekend, looks like a club racer of old ...

Steve Jones won though in his 'Dale Racing' Mini which is a front running App K car.

HRDC certainly don't seem to struggle filling the grids!

So anyone going to Oulton Park on May 21st, or entered?

HRDC have three races as part of the VSCC meeting.

I'm planning on going and Tim Harber is entering.

Here's the time table, I think the A-Series Challenge are mixed in with the Academy race, so only 2 HRDC races.

and here's a link to the event page and ticketing links

I was planning on going, but I have an unscheduled trip down to SMMC that day. Hopefully I'll get my new engine right this time.

Rich's sortie into All A series at the end of last year was certainly NOT cheap for me
