JC how long do I need to leave it in the vaseline (no jokes please Rich!) also have you tried it on the gear lever cover?
How do you wash the vaseline off afterwards, I assume cleaning it off with thinners again is a no no.

Andy i used a product to resuccitate the original rubber items on my car called gummipfledge. - spelling?!! - but it works pretty nicely. Sponges on with a special applicator which is part of the bottle.

Hi Andy,

From memory they rub the floormat with a rough sponge & thinners, then leave for a day to dry out, they then work / massage (no jokes ;) ) the vaseline in to the rubber, in a thick layer,
and keep repiting this, untill it dont absorbe any more vaseline .

Not much progress over the last few weeks, been busy with work and other things. Managed to paint and fit the exhaust last weekend...

And fitted the petrol tank and boot lid this morning. Sorry the camera phone shot is so blurred but this one get across the dark green colour more than the previous photos...

The 'Einszett Gummi Pflege' stuff worked a treat by the way, as specially on the gear lever boot.

It has been a very slow year for the restoration, but the announcement of the track day has given me a shot in the arm and a deadline. Since the last photo the rear screen is now in along with the wiring and rubber carpets. More importantly, these beauties arrived from Italy, very rare Campagnolo mag alloys...hmmmm...

A bit more progress, a drip from the hydro has been sorted and its back up to FULL height. Doors on, just need to connect the dash pod and thats the interior done. Fitted the fancy alloy window catches today, not original to the car but an accessory sold at the time, nasty quality but look great...
