I bet you can't wait for the first proper drive! It really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks though, you know what's gone into it and how genuine it isAndrew1967 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 3:02 pm Certainly was a challenge ... just hope drives as well as it looks![]()
I think being open and honest was the only way to go on this one, otherwise everyone would have just said it was a re-shell job once finished.
Nidge, the Black Mk2 is pencilled in for a big overhaul next, not sure how much it needs but do not plan a full restoration on it. But I have got my claws partly into another Mk1 S. Luckily the shell is nowhere near as bad as HOY's was![]()
excellent news chuffed for you all the hard work has paid off, im sure youl sort the speedo out soon , car is probably way better than when it was new in the showroom ,one build to be proud of andrewAndrew1967 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 6:00 pm HOY drives![]()

After doing the tracking this morning, it has been a dry day so thought better take it out for a 'gearbox check'
Very happy with the way it drives, lovely suspension and very smooth. Gearbox is excellent, engine pulls well for what is a basic set up (not dyno or rolling road).
Only issue was the speedo has packed up. Did work briefly. I dont think it's the cable soil have to come out, be tested with he old drill in the back trick and if it doesn't work, then it'll have to go away to be fixed.
Other than that, I'm very pleased.![]()
