Must have stopped fitting those before my '63 was built! - shame such a classy item
I will never cease to be amazed at the crap people will buy in the belief that they are somehow "improving" the look of their minis, there are some seriously chavvy guys and gals out there!

Was in the garage yesterday, and a fellow forum member came by.
When he was looking at my std 850 MK I body, he found this little breather clip in place.
So once again, the clever one, used the words in the auction title, that sells
cant blame him
bet it wouldnt sell to that price, if listed as a std Mini item

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MINI-GEAR-LIN ... true&rt=nc
In case you were kicking yourself for missing this one...
88G224 £7.50 from Minispares
88G223 - 50 apparently available from Damen & Kroes
I'm not sure these will
'take all the free play out of the gear change' either!

to be fair to this seller the female 88G223 has been quite hard to find new for many years and both items do wear into each other & do wear onto the splined shafts. there only needs to be a little 'rocking' motion between the shaft and the broaching of the cast parts (which wear quicker then the splines on the shafts) to make quite an appreciable difference to the quality of the gear change.
I don't think the winning bid was too far out the way in this instance, id have happily paid that sort of money for these.

I won this auction at the same time as the other one was active, only much cheaper...... So its a good idea to take a look around before you bid on one item..

Wasn't poking fun (really), just pointing out that 'other sources of gearbox parts are available'.
No 88G223 isn't cheap. I paid about £25 from D&K but still available and together with 22G224 cost less than this auction.
Perhaps I should buy some more and eBay them!!!
