Wow, how cool is that!

I actually work in advertising, very tempting but know sure what I'd do with them. I imagine that very few period printing plates survived over the years.

This is what this car/registration looked liked about 16 years ago!
The man driving and who built the car was called Jim 'Victor' Smith. He had a workshop in Deal, Kent and restored Minis and Healeys to a high spec.
He passed away a few years ago now.
Would be interesting to see if there is any red paint under that green, would add to its racing history.
Still shows it as being Red on the DVLA site and sorn.

'One piece floor' luckily, but with rod change and corresponding tunnel?
Very nice car though!

eBay is really getting a tad annoying now .. nothing much mk1 or 2 is advertised without 'cooper', 'downton', 'speedwell' in the title, and as for that d*head who insists on putting a picture on a bmc box next to every nut & bolt he's trying to sell, then makes it plain you're not getting the box

I think it has, as the saying goes, become a victim of its own success and is increasingly only useful as an alternative to Halfords if you can wait a day or so.

£200 for something with a mounting pin missing - I've seen nos ones go for less...

I just saw that & had a laugh too. £200 is OTT for any Speedwell badge, let alone one with a pin missing!

Do these innocenti minis come with an S engine as claimed in this auction or is it a standard A series?

Needs a bit of welding... could be a nice little project!

No they didn't, at least I have seen several of theses and they have all been an 11 stud, 1300GT style solid block with conrods with the little beam on them. I suspect the seller is either a typical ebay chancer or has been speaking to someone who said "my mate had a mk111 S that came from the factory with a solid block" etc etc.
Probably surfing.

Solid wall block 1275, what I'd call a MG1300 lump.
But with a single HS6 on a alloy manifold only seen on these.
Short 3-1 exhaust manifold, something like the pressed steel type but bigger diameter.
Seriously doubt the claimed S-brakes, but who knows?!!
Front subframe looks mini, but is special to these.

Yes, used to own one :D much rustier

There's a copy of a period British road test of a De Tomaso here. The car had 8.4" GT brakes when built and a retuned (different cam timing according to the text) version of the GT engine.
