All that history will make a real nice story (... 3 owner original Cooper S, original documentation, never raced or rallied...) for the Auction House that sells it in 12 months time.

A member on TMF (Scousemouse) posted.....

"I'm think I valeted these 2 when they were swapped back in to VOSS MOTORS Liverpool, back in the 70s.
Over 50/60 Mini Pandas and 10/15 Cooper Ss. were supplied brand new by VM. for Liverpool/Bootle Police.
Under the back seats would offer up police uniform buttons/speeding ticket books and the occasional bloody snot rag ;D
The guys that mostly drove the "S" were Motorcycle Police on the night shift....and they were HARD BUGGERS who took no stick from the bad boys.
Myself and another valetar enquired about buying one each of used and abused Ss off VOSS at a discount (because WE WORKED THERE)if my memory serves me right they(VOSS) wanted £200 per car, which we both declined as a "RIP OFF".Well it was about a couple of months wages back then...........how does the song go...You take the high road and....."

Looks like something off Top Gear that would break in two as they raced it round a field...........

It would certainly make a 'grand' entrance at Blyton.

Ha, ha, it certainly does. OK, I know I can't grumble as its a free competition, but £4,000 won't go far to complete a restoration nowadays.

^Especially on Mk1 parts off of Ebay.

Here's a nice rare accessory with a very healthy start price.

That LL Britax jacket looks great. Just the thing for a windswept weekend in Lincolnshire, unfortunately I ate some more pies yesterday so it's no good for me.

He's been listing that one on and off for a while (Last time was November I think). Start price has dropped by £125 though from the last time we saw it.

Come to the conclusion there are a lot of crusty MK1's lying around rural and West Wales given the number that have been listed in the last 12 months. Says 1970 but it's clearly an early 60's example. 'You will have to apply for the logbook' - good luck on that one :

...Another black one in the background as well.
