That's the guy I got the Britax alloy seat belt stickers from. Just got them, have to dig out the belts and see how they look.
Are the rosettes he sells decent? Does anybody know?

Seems like a half decent car. What's the catch?
If ASBO was £5k, that seems like a good price. Among the rest of them..... for that sort of price, you don't expect a one owner S. She's a slag, but a fun slag?
Or am I missing something? Do tell.

Australian Car, I think a mid 63 850. Built by a (local to me) Peter Wilson, Pete had a string of race mini's right back to the 70's. Including the sports sedan I now own and the Elden 8 port headed car later campaigned by Mark Broadhead.
Dynoed here in Newcastle (NSW) by John Collins who knows his stuff and has a very conservative Dyno,
Peter is a great guy, always buys all the right parts and uses Graham Russell, so I don't doubt the spec and comments....
Someone got a bargain!

It's an incredibly rare S - one with drum brakes!

That logbook is potentially meaningless/worthless without a matching Heritage Cert and wouldn't prove ownership even if it did have. Big gamble!

Someone will buy it, but for that price surely it's less economical than to find a wreck?!

Could be a trick of the light, but I think that's an Elf/Hornet roof to boot.

Wrecks are mega hard to find now though and usually twice that price!!
The seller's had a couple of moody Mk2 Ss on Ebay last year and a tired stripped out Mk4 wearing brand new number plates for a 1970 Mini.

I hope the buyer (if there really was one) checked out the chassis and engine numbers.
The V5 on my '66 says the same as that 'Mini Cooper S' (something the DVLA must have allowed to be changed in the past) but the chassis number reveals that it was a humble 850.
"This car needs almost everything sourcing" - no let's be honest here - everything sourcing.
"The roof needs collecting, however all the other parts can be put on a crate and shipped anywhere" - no let's be honest here - the only part (possibly) worth anything will fit in an envelope

He's a real chancer Pete.
He travels all over the place to buy Minis. Really don't know where he finds them - other than the kitchen drawer in this instance

I've met him as I had a relatively cheap 7 1/2 set up from him a couple of years ago quite cheap .
I've come to the conclusion that he has a hen S and a cock S and is breeding them as in the last 3-4 years he has sold more S's than BMC ever did .

Correct, so where is it??! If it comes back as a Cooper 998 or worse you'd be pretty cheesed off and want your £7500 back!
