Thanks ;)

Just found this, looks like it's taken at JD Classics premises in Essex, almost looks like a model but it's typical of how I remember 'old banger' Mk1s round our way in the '70s...

MLU is now almost restored! Simon at The Mini Works in Scotland has done the work. Pictures are available on their FB page.

That was a one owner S I think that had a Speedwell tuning kit on it. It had been parked up for many years in the owners garage and was put up for sale some years ago online by the family after he passed away. Passed through a couple more owners before the current one who as Tim says has had the car restored by Simon Drew.

The owner didn't want it nicking! Also had a crinkley Austin grille. I kept all the pics when it was for sale, looked spot on. Mint set of Restall Type 1s in it aswell.! I turned it down @ £8K.

It had a fairly recent keeper change so either it or the V5 is floating around.

Ha, ha, that old chestnut. MLU was punted around everywhere about 10 ywears ago, as Pete says it went through a couple of pairs of hands before finding someone who was prepared to restore it.

I very nearly bought it myself, but the sub £10,000 price tag seemed ridiculous at the time :o

How times & prices have changed.

It is a cracking car.
