It's effectively a works car though, you have to bear in mind, driven by a professional racing driver.
Lovely day in Cheshire today. I think I caught the sun a little too much.
Bernie looks like he's been working in a furnace.

AN great day all round. I have a mass of snaps to get through, I might get some posted towards the end of the week. I'll also be posting Tims footage up sometime in the next week as well. The altercation with Ken Welch is interesting, if a little dusty. I also saw the footage from Mark Burnetts car which shows it all from another angle and him clouting the side of Steve Jones.
I also had a bit of fun on the way home. I was trundling along the A1, just getting ready to pull into Weatherby Services when I spotted a grey Sprint whizzing along the fast lane. I thought stuff the services lets get after him. He was moving at a fair old pace and my Sprite rarely goes above 5000 rpm, but it did today. After couple of miles Mark let me passed. In the end Mark went up the Harrogate slip road and I made my way up the A19.

Followed Bernie in AJB66B for a while on the way home, not often you follow a 'real' ex -works Mini on the road

Urm, yes rather too busy aday. Glad I didn't try to come up late evening as they lock the track at 11. Would'nt even let a man who had come to mend the mobile phone mast in. One or our Mini racing bretheren had to park outside and wait till the morning despite uniformed men on gate
Glad to have got a second race in, and hoot of the day was to watch our rock musician friend launch himself off trying to keep up with me at one corner that I can do
Now I have watched my footage, the off seems to have been caused by waterless coolant on the track. I was aware of something on the screen that wasn't oil or water and we hit it in a rather bunched moment....
Someone left their glasses on my trailer

How quick is that willow green Swiftune car?
Too bloody quick!
I too had a great day, it was great catching up with a few faces I hadn't seen for a while.
As Pete has already said I take my hat off to Tim Harber for his fantastic showing in BOTH historic races, it's a great shame he picked up the damage in the 1st race, but it certainly seemed to spur him on to bigger & better things in race no 2. Definitely the star of the show for me!
Lets just hope they decide to do it again next year & actually advertise it next time!

Never leaves his wallet though, he carries that around in a wheel barrow.

Darren Turner in Nick Swift's car did a 2.03.558 fastest lap which was in the second race, Jonathan Lewis did 2.05.424 in the first race and Ian Curley did 2.05.574 in the first race.
The fastest Miglia was Rupert Deeth who did a 1.59.138 in his first race. The Sevens were doing low to mid 2.11s in their first race and 2.13s in their second race.

In the mid 60's Rhodes was doing 2.00 dead and by '69 Spice was managing 1.54. There's been chicanes added since then though!!

Ouch, I've seen the results of that crash and it's not pretty. That took place in a spot that's seen the worst crashes at Oulton over the years where the car(s) skew off into the barrier and sometimes over it. The orange car seemed instrumental in both the leader's spin and the resulting crash with the pink car on the exit of Old Hall.

bit of in car from mark burnett............................................
I wonder if anyone has explained to the guy in the grey car that the idea of taking part in a race, is to actually race, not to weave around and hold everyone else up..................

Very good in car footage.
The crash with the two miglias happened in front of where we wear sat... the noise was not nice.
They both got out and walked towards each other and had a chat...
