Well it's at the first break, and I am shock how much the owners of the 2 car want for them
A white 1971. Mk3. Well rotten, engine seized and was asking £1500. It's a mk3 and needs saving but there not worn that much yet as a basket, or are they???
The second one they bought at 1975 blue mini. Need the useal panels, floor, front end, etc. restoration project, no tax or mot. And was asking £1100. And ends up buying it for £720
Is that a fair price, I still stuck 8-10 years ago when you could pick something up project like that for £50-100

Seven days!! makes my restoration efforts look pants, I'm of to the garage to recon my race engine with WD40.
Has any one made a note of the phone number as I could do with my Innocenti Cooper finishing and my 1070 S starting and finishing, I would like them both on the road by christmas! Both restored for under £5k how brilliant is that what do you think the value would be?

You couldn't have bought the bits they used for £2400. Worried about rust and they're going to restore a Fiat 124

Laughable pricing especially as I've just got a 944 Porsche for £250

John Cooper signature wheel, where did that go, not on the car, standard seats suddenly turned into buckets, Cooper stripes that didn't go all the way down the car, send it off to check the alignment, oops it's suddenly got 12 inch wheels and wings with side repeater holes, back again and it's on 10's with solid wings........

Re: classic car rescue. channel 5
Just watched a recording and freeze framed the scene where they send the Mini off on the back of a breakdown truck for an alignment check.......it is definitely a completely different later Mini used in this scene with a Clubman Style dash and top rail, no roof gutter drip rails, front panel with later cut-out hole for passenger eyeball vent intake, repeater holes in wings and 12" wheels as already mentioned and rust patches in completely different areas. The original Mini does seem to re-appear for the final part of the 'restoration' with most of its previously bodged oversills retained but the mis-firing engine seems to have been replaced at some point in the 'rebuild' with a later A+ engine still with remmants of the factory yellow paint on the head and block......
