A small amount of progress. Got all my stuff back from powder coating so managed to get something done.

Built the pedal box and installed it along with the steering column.

The front subframe and suspension is now ready to assemble complete with NOS hubs etc.

For anyone interested in the difference between saloon and commercial rear trumpets, the ones on the left with the big flange are commercial ones, welded steel too.

The difference in length is marginal but important.

After a very busy and fun filled weekend at Blyton I spent a couple of hours on the pickup.
Painted the tank.

And started to build up the front subframe.

Inching forwards
Hours and hours of work with almost nothing to show for it

Slowly depending NOS parts.

I do like the flat tailgate, very clean lines.

This is a great restoration to read about. You know how I like the basic end of the world of Minis Bill and this is great to see alongside all the tastefully modified classics too.

Quick catch up on the progress (or lack of) over the summer. A great shortage of time has meant that not a lots been achieve since my last update.

Front subframe was a pig to get in but it’s in now.

Like wise the NOS tank necessitated the removal of the filler neck shroud to get it lined up. Putting the shroud on after the tank was in (all be it not done up tightly) was interesting to say the least.

The restored master cylinders are one of my favourite parts so far, really pleased with how they’ve turned out.

I must have spent 6 or 7 hours trying to feed the number plate loom through the tailgate. Gave up doing it on the car and took it all back off shin in the end. Lots of bends in a wire coat hanger later, it’s in.
Hopefully there won’t be a 4 month gap between update next time. Got another pile of powder coating ready to go off, rear subframe is next to build up.
