"British Leyland ran an ad for their Mini in 1979 with the slogan "Nips in and out like Ronnie Biggs" and placed one of the posters near the flower stall of Buster Edwards in Waterloo. Members of the public complained but the Advertising Standards Authority supposedly only queried whether BL had got Biggs's permission to use his name."

Chris Harris from Top Gear had a Mini as his 1st car and of course raced one at Goodwood in 2019.

Chris Harris had a good line recently on Top Gear saying,

“You’re either a beetle guy or a mini guy and I’ve always been a mini guy”

Never really thought of it before but while I respect the bug I don’t really have any desire to own one.

I've owned both. 6 Beetles (plus 4 other air-cooled VWs) and 11 Minis. So you shouldn't believe what all these celebrities say. By the way I do like Harris' E28 BMW.

I too have nothing against VW Beetles or their owners,

But this sort of took the gloss of the whole Beetle thing for me

At the audio shop having the TV aerials fitted for vanity only. And only because his chauffeur had had one fitted to his e-type first

Looks like she's had the car breathed on aswell judging by the dash.

She drove an Inno Mini in the 1971 Italian 'Giallo' thriller 'Four Flies On Grey Velvet' with Michael Brandon (of 'Dempsey & Makepiece' fame much later on). Brandon drives a very nice little Alfa 105 series Gulia which he drives straight into a Fiat truck at the end of the film!

Who knows the registrations of Minis used by Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon?
Any photos or other sources please?

Lord Snowdon's car was 999 FLY. There are photos on Jeroen's blog.

I think it is owned by an occasional member of the forum, who I seem to recall didn't want the car discussed.
