Any chance of an in-car video of the hillclimb track (slow & safe is ok don't want anyone taking any risks) - just would be good to see what the track is like to drive before I get there as being the first ever event there is no hillclimber video to have a look at - if any one can post up to youtube with a link that would be great - Thanks

I’d been looking forward to this as was due to bring a rally car with Slowly Sideways, however have just found out it’s only 2 runs on the Friday! Massive shame and my personal opinion is that it’s an event that hasn’t quite got how enjoyable the public find historic rally cars.

However sincerely hope it’s a success for them and indeed all you guys in Mini’s :)

Due to my continuing family commitments, I am going to have to pull out of this event. Before I tell Max at the YMF, I thought I'd ask if anyone on here would like my entry. I have already offered it to Rich, but as he's working that weekend he can't take it. I also have a double room booked at a nearby Pub if you need accommodation.

So, if anyone is interested in taking my place for the entire weekend, I'm Entered for all Hillclimb runs, please get in touch AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so I can clear it with Max at the YMF.

If there is no interest here, I'll contact Max on Tuesday & cancel my entry so someone on the official reserve list can get in.

I cannot begin to explain how disappointed I am to be missing this event, one I have been entered for & had an entry for, for the last two & a half years, but sadly I have absolutely no choice whatsoever.

You can contact me on <deleted> for the details.

Now sorted.

My Mate Wil Ker will be representing me at next weekends YMF. So although I can't be there, my blue 999 will be.

Hurrah!

Well I’m currently talking to YMSF on how I’m gonna get 110 NNM through scrutineering but I’m happy just take either way!

Due to Boris allowing all and sundry to fly to India the event now has to stick to a maximum of 4000 spectators sadly but I’m sure it’s still gonna be great. Long range weather forecast has it as changeable until the weekend of the event but brightens up at the weekend. We’ll just have to wait and see!

I think they made a smart call limiting the numbers ahead of Boris screwing us over, although i can imagine traders would not be best pleased at a potential cap.
I'm still working on getting a running car, but I've got next week off and sleep is over rated!
Wanna see what I'm playing with? Youtube Channel
Caution ;) may contain 8 Ports, Xe's and VTec's, I don't do standard!

Hopefully it will still be nice and busy. We are down as 'Exhibitors' so are not included in the 4000 public ticket sales. They sent me 40 passes and apparently one of the other car clubs asked for 400! Motorsport is all about bending the rules isn't it ;)

Well done Matt,

For anyone who thinks that Hillclimbing can be a bit boring, you should have seen the incredible 2 day battle royal between Wil Ker driving my Blue Supercharged 999 & Matt Clarke in his amazing SMMC 1460.

What an INCREDIBLE Battle!

I'll let the results speak for themselves.

Well done too, to everyone else who took the time to make the 1st Yorks Motorsport Festival the success it sounds like it was.

Needless to say, I was very sorry not to be able to attend myself, but undoubtedly Wil did a MUCH better job of driving my car that I could ever have done.

See some of Wil's in car here:

2nd in class.

He's off to Oulton in a couple of weeks, for his first circuit race.

He's got an entry in the VSCC light car race & another in the specials race.
