My road trip to Beaulieu

Image

During my travel, I stopped to meet some friends and some family, and I've made 2500kms in 4 days. The mini ran smoothly, I'd only filled it with 0.25 gallons of oil.

Image

Here we go !

Image
The Route Nationale 7 (Paris to Nice), typical with his plane trees..

Image

Image
Arrival in Tours. We'll be 4 cars for the travel : an october 1961 traveller, an Innocenti 1300 and the Sprint (on a trailer)

Image
Last check up the travel, the Traveller has a small exhaust leak and the Sprint his missing his Dulles dashboard.

Image
This Sprint is a recreation from Neville, made a couple of years ago.

Image

Image

Image
This is also The 24 hours of Le Mans this week-end, and we saw a lot of nice cars. The owner of the DBS came to tell me that his first car was a 63 Cooper !

Image
After Le Mans, the sky became unfriendly..

Image
The first shower of the week-end !

Image
Nice weather arriving on Dieppe, we could see the sea.

Image
Boat in sight !

Image
Crossing fingers not to see that truck kissing my boot.

Image
We have 4 hours of rest.

Image
Uk, here we come !

Image

Image
The weather became increasingly cold, the minis are trying to get warm in regrouping themselves.

Image

Image
Last paint touches for the Concours

Image
The weather is awful, but the minis are here !

Image

Image
Nicolas bring the Sprint on the Concours place, we are engaged in class 4, modified minis before 1970

Image
Usual suspects..

Lovely Twini Replica

Image
It must be a madness to drive such a car..

Steve Burkinshaw present his Sprint Stewart et Arden.

Pick your color !

Image
It's time to leave.

Image
The beaulieu field was slippy..

Image
The Traveller has seen the fuel pump 2 times more often than us !

I am so gutted that it was my weekend to work again as although it rained it looked to be a great weekend of Minis and meeting up with good friends.

I believe the majority of visitors had a really good time the day they went to Bulee despite the rain. It was a truly International event with visitors from all over Europe and the UK. A typically English international Mini Cooper meeting with some fantastic cars and some adventures as the pictures show. Steve B was soaked to the skin when he returned home on Sunday evening but still cheerful. Enjoy your Coopers. :)

Thanks ! Yes, Beige El Paso. Orginally it was a 850 Automatic. .

Yes PEU was owned by Steve, he sold it in order to restore the S&A.

There was a very nice bunch of cars in the middle, shame for the rain, but it was only for the brave ! I was surprised of the horizontal rain, even with an umbrella I was wet from my belt to my feet !
