Sure on that ?
My info suggests that car and driver have to have a proven record, preferably together. Okay, know of one exception, but it's a proper special exception.

Its pretty understandable that racers use 850 shells or Heritage shells, I doubt there's many would use a genuine S as a circuit racer nowadays! Though there's an old boy who regularly races what looks like a genuine tatty Tweed Grey S in the Classic Touring Car Racing Club. There's quite a few Goodwood race cars still in-build though that's true! The main issue has been getting any testing slots at the circuit as you can imagine when an extra 30 Minis are suddenly added to the programme! We haven't managed to get one anyway!

I stumbled across a nice interesting red mini that is supposedly entered.

It was finished and ready to go. Not the usual thing you’d see on track.

I won’t say anymore as I don’t know the owner. Should be good entertainment to see how it’s fairs though.

Because it’s homologated - and I put in a LOT of legwork to get it allowed.
Couldn’t afford to build it in the manner deserved, so passed it on.

Fantastic, I don't think both races have ever been uploaded in full, especially in such quality. 8-) Funny, I only found the race programme for it last week. I'll upload the entry lists later. Great memories of that weekend with Mark F, Rich, Fish, Tim H, Paul, Norman G, Mike Mark, Barbera, Mick, it was awesome.

Any chance of a larger photo ?
I can't quite read all of the article, and let's face it, I have a bit of a vested interest in the car.

"From rotting shell to racer in four months: 1964 Mini Countryman saved from the scrapheap and transformed into a classic competition car packing more performance than a Golf GTI"
To the untrained eye this might look like a well-kept classic Mini estate, but lurking underneath is a highly-tuned race car that's due to hit the track for the first time this month. The 1964 Austin Mini Countryman - not a Traveller - has been saved from the scrapheap, thanks to one enthusiast who has turned it into the ideal classic competition car:-
