They did but i spent a lot of time back and forth and i supplied a lot of the panels and was a lot of hassle i wouldn't go through again. I am not saying they are not good at welding and fabricating they just need to a little more research on some of the variants i think. Typical example is the brace to the front panel which i said i thought had been fixed in the wrong place but they insisted it was right needless to say Southam have had to move it over to get the cooler in and they hadn't turned the lip over which i had asked them to do, shame after it had all been painted. I wouldn't hesitate to take a later car there.

Been in the garage tonight spraying some mirrors i bought off Mark. I used a textured black which i think looks pretty good and should look nice on the car.

The guy who lives across the road owns a car paints shop and he mixed it for me. I originally asked if he could do a black crackle effect and this was his interpretation. Its a bit finer texture than black crackle and more matt but looks great on the mirror backs. I have also used it on my oselli rocker cover which looks really nice now. I'll get some pics of that when i get the car back. Cheers Steve

Should have the car back in around two weeks. Went to see it last week but not best pleased to say the least. I have put a lot of hard work and cash into this car and to see it left outside on a very dusty car park with trucks rumbling past and the bonnet off i wasn't best pleased
. My car was covered in sh-t, i had even supplied a cover for when it wasn't been worked on
It is really dragging on now just hope it is worth it and keeping my fingers crossed its returned to me in the 'mint' condition it was when it went in
.

Nothing wrong with the engine but got a weak change down from 4th to 3rd although it has a fully rebuilt box. Gonna run the engine in first and see how it goes, changes up o.k. and its o.k. if careful but when its run in and i want to give it some welly it will become a problem.

SMMC did not rebuild the gearbox

That is true (hope i didn't give that impression) I think Rod at smmc was as gutted as me to be honest
I would have no hesitation recommending SMMC to anyone and will certainly use them again for any engine/box work.
The gearbox was rebuilt before i knew about these guys and i gave it to them to fit to the engine they were rebuilding.
Kind regards Steve
