PLM538E started its life in UK with Mr Cooper. His daughter Sheila married a French man and moved to France.
Mr Cooper travelled to France several times with the Mini.
After he passed away, the Mini remained in France and then I bought it of Sheila in 2001. Only one picture came with the car. A picture of Mr Cooper next to the Mini, near a lake in Ireland. This picture was taken soon after he won the car, in 1967.
This week, Sheila got in touch with me to send me a picture she had just discovered. The picture was taken circa 1971/72 near Honfleur in Normandy. The church behind is Notre Dame de GrĂ¢ce and next to it is the presbytary. The woman near the tree is Sheila and her husband took the picture.
This place is about 2 hours from where I live. Back in 1998, I was 18 and I found a job for the summer break in Honfleur and guess what? I found a room to stay in that same presbytary ! The room was on the first floor, it's the window that can be seen on the picture. How awesome is that !

What a coincidence, and very nice with history and old pictures of the car. :-)
