If I may ask, who is your supplier of wire hose camps? I spy one on your PCV valve, exactly like the ones I'm looking for

that rubber type fixing "thingie" that you see sitting around the hose for the breather (not cleaned yet = have some rust stains on it)
are only found on highly original / lowmilage BMC / BL cars
Not sure on all Mini,s that had them, but have seen them on 2 different Mini types so far.

Abri - the wire clip is an original item from the car that I've had zinc plated. I've seen a few for sale at autojumbles over the year but they've always been too big/small.
JC - ye that's a rare rubber thingy, and in very poor condition, only just holding together, I doubt I'll be using it on the final build.
Yup, great paint from the whights.co.uk

Hi Andy,
so its not in good condition ? shame, as they are hard to find .
Is it the hole thats broken ?
I was very lucky to find a nice soft one, on a lowmilage car (already scrapped
)

The hole is complete but the rubber is very brittle.
Here are a few photos for the clip geeks...

Try clean it with cellulose thinners, and then smear it with a thick layer of vaseline, and leave it for a long time.
the Swedish Volvo owners restore the early & ultra rare Grey rubber floor mats his way.

Nice to know I am not alone
that just looks SOO RIGHT
I carefully removed & expanded all the quick fit clamps on the fuel & brake servo system on my car, and had them zinkplated.
4 years later I bought a magazine dating from JanSpeed,s 25th anniversary in 1987.
One of the congratulations advert,s in it was from Norma hose clips, guess what the name on my hose clip,s are

Thanks alot, I'm sure my brother will be pleased by your nice comments about the paint job, we did spend a hell of a long time flatting and trizacting Andy's shell and panels as he was one of our main first full restoration customers but also is a very good long time serving family freind who believed in Chris and me doing the work, and helped my brother with ( spreading the word ) flyer's etc for the business.
It's good see it's getting some fast progress, as I remember while we where cracking on with the car, more and more parts were ready to fit on before we'd even painted it.
Only downside is wish my car was at the same stage or even at the painting stage.

I was only waiting for a comment on that one
This stuff works wonders thou, I will see if I can find a link to the Volvo forum.
Apparently the cellulose thinner, opens the pores in the rubber, so it absorbes the vaseline, and get all soft again.
They restore all kind a of rare rubber parts this way.
