The Oulton Park Mini Festival is up next on 8th August :

http://oultonpark.mini-festival.co.uk/

Without historics and Mighty Minis it's going to be a tough sell but they've asked if I can help put a display of interesting cars together as last year. Attendees will get free tickets. Anyone interested just drop me a line. Any rally cars fancy the rally stage ditto!

Have to say Pete, i'm in two minds, my hillclimber/rally car is here...the overtly MINI content is somewhat putting me off...having not been before and with only the 7/Miglia Mini shape, is there much besides for us enthusiasts of the original  or should I wait until the Gold Cup... (which i'm definitely going too)

Seen one Miglia , you've seen em all, ditto MINI racers , not much for the classic car nut I'm afraid. Might not bother myself.

Went to the Mighty race back in April at Oulton, to be fair they were a blast...really close racing, nip and tuck etc...

Fair enough, but it's just the cars seem so soul less...... :?

Which is why I'm only interested in historic racing, of any kind! When you watch Mightys they sound like bees in a bottle as they go round, or someone sanding a door down. Close racing though, and you don't need a Swiss bank account to take part. F1 is just soul-less, oh for the days when you could tell which car you were looking at just from the silhouette , not the current wrap it has on it. They sound like lawn mowers aswell nowadays! And you wonder why historics are on the up, pah :"it used to be all green fields round 'ere!"
