Got me thinking maybe have a run of BMC paper bags printed and dismantle my Cooper to the smallest nut and bolt, should increase it's value

It wasn't from a works car. It was a privately entered rally car that did the RAC in the late 70's early 80's. I bought the 'car' (less the shell which was cut up) years ago. I still have a very nice sc box and a head, supposed to be Longman and a few other nice bits
from it.

Imagine the price it would have gone for if it was in a BMC bag. Its going to Italy and i'm trying to find out what car its going in (its not Paul Lips).

It did slightly brighten up a crap weekend.

I must admit in the past to selling stuff on ebay with a BMC box in the picture, I was never a 'NOS BMC Works' advertiser though.
I did fall out with ebay for a while and would much prefer to sell via forums but the crazy prices bits are going for now they just cannot be ignored.

The speedo is going in a standard 1275 S, personally i'd spend that money on some period wheels or engine parts, but each to their own.

I see that those humourless to55ers at ebay have pulled Rich's BMC Rocking Horse poo.

so, its ok to advertise logbooks on ebay, but not to have a laugh

I was selling a Belstaff waxed waistcoat once and they pulled it with the same spiel because I described it as "Barbour-type"

I don't think Ebay have the time to trawl through listings looking for 'rule breachers', I'm sure that'll have been cancelled due to a complaint from some nerk with a sense of humour bypass . As for the logbook sellers, all they do now is list their logbooks as having a scrap shell and include a fuzzy old photo of a rotten shell. One particular 'recycler' of log books has used the same fuzzy old photo on several auctions and Ebay do feck all.

Rich, How could they do so! You had the related BMC bag clearly pictured so how could they complain about that???

In fact, they should now bann all items that use any of the words: BMC works mini cooper S
