Bought a full engine with 1128 box off facebook for £100 instead! It looks like it's been used as a ships anchor, bit I only want the casing.

Googled the number and this came up, last MOT in 2015 , so cant be that bad

Very original, no kick plates on the doors, trim in good shape and apparently all there. That will make a very nice mid sixties car.

I don't recall the chassis plate reading Austin Morris group on my 1972 car, nor do I recall having the thin sheet style commision number welded to the front rail.
There are a lot of later features on it, grille, brakes, A plus engine, big brakes, later badges etc. but virtually nothing to indicate a 1972 build.

I think it deserves a big bell.....

I quite like the "thing" with the expensive numberplate. It has all of the hallmarks of being owned by some hillbilly who hasn't got a clue what they've got. Looks like a genuine 1071 S with those wheels!

It does look like a later car, it might even have started life as a round nosed 1980s car looking at the servo brakes and the double column stalks with the indicators on the left.
It should also have a commission number next to the chassis plate.
By the way, all GT grilles are the same, it is just the way they are painted and the badges that are different.

And the cynical might suggest that the carpets have been thrown in the front to hide the square tunnel?
