Note the ITN cameraman in one of the photos, it was filmed near Heathrow Airport in July '67 but I've not seen the footage online so far. The journos and snappers all look very smartly dressed!

That's from Series 2 Episode 22 The Monkees In Paris. Lot of late 60's Paris street scenes so not that many Minis to be spotted.

I'm just wondering where that photo was taken - it's not at the rear of Radford's showroom in King Street, Hammersmith and certainly not out the front either. Looks more like a Mews somewhere... I know the Monkeys were in London in the early part of '67 (there are photos of Nesmith and Mickey Dolenz at Macca's house and Abbey Road studios at the time) and they were on tour here with Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Cat Stevens and (wait for it) Engelbert Humperdink, then Nesmith picked the car up in July.

Just found a few more...

Long Wheelbase Radford Rover Mini
"A highly unique Mini one of only two ever built Radford Mini De Ville in Long Wheelbase. Both were built for Costas Los, owner of Radford when Chris Humberstone was at the helm. This Mini which was previously owned and built for Costas Los fitted with a 1000cc automatic for his residence in Monaco in 1991.

Here’s a nice quote from Clapton’s tour manager Bob Adcock about George Harrison’s Radford under Clapton’s brief ownership in the early 70s -

“The reason that the car was returned "a tad worse for wear" to GH was that the bonnet suddenly flew open at around 90mph when I was driving the car on the M6 on a quick trip up to Liverpool........ I was at Eric's house and he invited me to use it for the trip........ George wasn't too pleased needless to say as the bonnet was badly dented......... It certainly grabbed my attention as I made my way over to the hard shoulder from lane 3 at speed!...... :-)

Great story Pete! Always liked that photo...… taken down the side of Abbey Road studios where the big double doors are for carting gear in and out, very likely mid' 68 when Eric guested on the White Album sessions for 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'.

Unfortunately no Ex-Beatles Radford Minis are up for auction this time...but the stage of a Liverpool venue where the band performed is among 300 items of Beatles memorabilia up for grabs. The auction will take place online and at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square New York:-

Also a "strange" guitar formerly owned by Beatles John Lennon and George Harrison was recently valued at up to £400,000 on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow:- https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-m ... e-51698031

Hexagon must have bought it from Graham Hunt, he had it for a while. It's John Hammel's old car which he owned three times, it has bags of history going back to '69, oversills or not I'd have it in a heartbeat if I had the dosh... it's a car I've 'had my eye on' for over twenty years but never been in a position to buy each time it came up for sale, although I was fairly close on one occasion...

I've just read the blurb on their website, they've got the history slightly wrong, Steve Marriot never owned it but John worked for Steve's band Humble Pie at the time and chauffeured Steve around in it a lot. It left Longbridge in '69 in El Paso Beige & Snowberry White then went straight to W&P in Park Royal ;)
