of course, the big advantage if al gets them is that there is no chance of them ever suffering from UV degradation.....

or anyone ever sitting on them!

That's right Rich, I'd never have a glass sunroof. Hellish for the UV they are. :)

Asked the vendor. He very kindly confirmed the missing ID is indeed a bulb. The meeting that decided a 12,000 mile service kit should include 14 engine related parts and a ONE stop/tail light bulb must of been quite a blast... Full list:

BFS380 Bulb, 12v 5/21w SBC OFFSET
7H5086 Rotor arm
17H5423 Lucas contact set
47H5250 Condenser
13H859 Fanbelt
13H875 Champion N-9Y Sparkplugs x 4
12A109 Gasket, thermostat housing
AEA770 Gasket, rocker cover

12A623 Air filter
8G684 Oil Filter
12A409 Top hose
2A245 Bottom hose

That's quite some breakdown though Rich if you need new air and oil filters at the roadside...

ok, more of a break down / touring kit

why would a service kit have hoses and stuff like that?

Something of a curates egg really as it can't quite decide what it is though embossed on the box are the words '12000 mile service parts kit' (Then later 'A Stringer Motors product' - so maybe that's where the blame lies). Stop/tail bulb useful but if it's also intended as a touring kit why not also a headlight, indicator, interior or Instrument / rear number plate bulbs? I know - I'm sure BMC sold you another 'bulb kit' for that :)

Shouldn't be beyond them to identify it from the registration date, model/make/ part ID..

Very expensive for a bit of paper and a reproduction vin plate.
Nobody would buy that if they didn't have a shell to mate it to.
