There's usually about 10 listings on Ebay at any time with that style of lamp, just search L572. I do not think that they are that rare.

The second oldest known Austin Seven Mini Countryman De-luxe, being sold by Charterhouse on Tuesday 13th September £12,000-16,000
“The market for early Mini’s and Austin Seven’s has rocketed over the past few years with very early cars such as this Countryman taking pride of place in collections alongside Rolls Royce, Aston Martin and Ferrari.” Commented Matthew Whitney.
Body number 267, this matching numbers 1960 Austin Seven Mini Countryman De-luxe was made three months before the official launch of the Countryman. With its ash frame, it has often been likened to a Tudor house on wheels.Estimated to sell for £12,000-16,000, its Devon owner has entered the tartan red Countryman into the Charterhouse auction without reserve as he is emigrating to New Zealand. Having owned the car for several years, he has sympathetically restored the car retaining very rare early features such as the fuel tank fitted in the boot rather than being set in the floor, special clutch and master cylinders, original upholstery and headlining. A well-known car to the National Mini Owners Club, the Countryman Register know of only one older Countryman.
Entered into the Charterhouse auction of classic and vintage cars at The Royal Bath & West Showground on 13th September, the auction starts at 12 noon. You can follow the auction and bid live via the internet on

Broadspeed used orange tops;
As did Ogle;
The red tops might be American spec.

...as re-registration's go the plate at least had a relevant '848' in it but I fear later 'developments' have well and trully screwed it :

Excellent - and highly appropriate for the car in question I reckon! A few years since that registration was attached to an "848" I'd guess

Someone has put a lot of time and effort into that little motor to give it all those later features
They might have replaced the number plates though - they're a bit tatty and letting the car down immensely.

The 1969 car is certainly built late enough in 69 to be in a mk3 shell.
The odd thing about it (aside from the heater at a very jaunty angle and the rather unpleasant switch box) is the chassis number.
It should begin XA2S1N for a 1000 built mk3 but the log book shows AA2SBS which would make it a MK2 Austin Super Deluxe.
