Plus new servo brackets and bolts.
For the right money (so
very sub 10 grand) and if it's not as rotten as a pear, it'd be worth a mechanical going-through and a 2 grand paint job to make it into a tidy thing to smoke about in.

And regulator not on side....re-shell with 1300 engine, looking more and more likely ?

Restored 12" GT at H&H. High estimate (reserve), but then that's probably the cost of a restoration for something similar.

It does look similar but I'd expect one that age to be Vermillion

I do like the GT's not so much the later ones though, always think they seem a little too watered down
certainly looks like it has had a decent job done on it though.
i would really like an early'ish one

I think that is about right now. That car has been for sale with three auction houses in the last 3 years.
Started out as Brooklands shortky after being discovered, asking price £10,000
https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C906756
https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auct ... ification/
Appeared at CCA a year later after being polished and detailed. I think the estimate was £12,000 and it did not sell.

And now it ends up at Anglia and makes almost £8,000.
Has the market been adjusted or is it still falling?
CCA have the Cilla Black W&P Mini 1000 Auto in their August sale. Will the celebrity connection help it reach its estimate of £24,000 - £28,000?

Please point out Mk2 and Mk4 characteristics.
Still trying to spot differences!
Thanks

MK2 rear window is larger than a MK1
A MK4 rear bulkhead has no large spit hole in it.
MK1 Rear
MK2 Rear
Look how they line up with the boot lid seams.
The "Spit hole" in the rear bulkhead. It's called this because the shells were supported like chickens on spits as they moved through the factory.

Re: Early mk1 Body has 4 x Studs under the floor Q

Q Early mk1 body shells had the 4 x 5/16 UNF studs positioned through the floor location 2off at Front Floor Pan & 2off in the Rear Floor .. they were fitted during production & remain unused when the car was finished assembled .. but what are these 4 x studs for ?
I though that maybe they were used to secure a Bodyshell to a Transportation Bracket maybe ?.
My reasoning ..
Father in Law drove a Lorry for British Road Services ( BRS) delivering Mini shells from Cowley up to Longbridge & i remember a story that he arrived at Longbridge with one Mini shell missing from his Trailer ?
He had to drive back the route & look for the missing Mini Body & fond it.. then get it back on the Trailer with his mate.( Driver & Mate back in those days in the Lorry cab )
Back in the day i do not think Bodyshells during Lorry transportation were strapped down.. they were located on the trailer just dropped on in a cradle & that was considered sufficient to keep the Body in position & secure for transportation.
I often saw these BRS Commer Lorrys belching out exhaust smoke on my way to school and the Body Shells of various BMC types they carried looked to me to be loose & shaking about as they were transported between various Factory sites.

As I understand it Norman, they were used to bolt the shell to the line at some point of the production process. Not sure at which point though ?!
My 60 still has them all in situ.
