Maybe, however to me a replica is something you spent time researching and got the correct parts for the job, not just sticking some tape and stickers you found in Home Depot onto the car.

Works seats???? etc. etc.

I'd prefer to see it as an honest daily user, remove all the naff tat off it and use it like that.

To be honest the one for sale in Australia at the moment is not much better in my opinion but it seems to have a lot of people flapping about how good it is.

Just my 2 cents.

Mk1 850 'adapted' for use in the 1970's..

...love the err... modified bottom hose used as a top hose to provide a port for the temperature sensor! There was certainly another thought process going on in the 70's.

That's one from "theminiforum.co.uk". The white mk1 in the background was restored from a basket case. Surprised he went cold on the pickup, must have genuine reasons.

The Moke used to belong to a member on here, and not taking it in a deal against the clubmans racer was the strongest display of sensible will power I think I've ever managed. I'm still not sure if I made the right decision or not!

Certainly a fantastic timewarp - 39 years is a long time off the road. All the bidders look like dealers at the mo - so expect it to reappear as either a low mileage 4 owners from new never raced or rallied 850, or disappear altogether as a log book Cooper... Mind you the carbs appear to be off an ADO16 1100 so guessing the lump may be the same, as can't see you would get much advantage out of twin SU's on an 850?

Other than the obvious (that being that eBay make more money from 'shillasaurus' auctions), I really cannot see why they allow this extremely dubious feature :?
