its interesting that my 'better' copies don't seemed to have affected the price of the originals!

It hasn't sold yet, & at that price I doubt it will.

" I have a dilemma I seek advice on. I have my S for sale and it seems it's going to a dealer in London who has somewhat squeezed the price down from what I was asking. Sadly I don't really know the value of such a pristine mk3 s as they are so rare. Any advice would be great. Agreed price is 29k"

29K for a Mk3??? What dilemma?

The only dilemma he's got is whether to tell the dealer it's not worth that much money  or possibly how to stop the Mrs ordering a new kitchen!

Not the same car but same type. Won't embarrass folks by leaving the reg number visible but it's a sobering fact this May 1971 Mk3 'S' exchanged hands for just £2,500 in 2013. Garaged and off the road for 20 years so some work was required but was in generally good order. Right place right time - both parties were happy with the price at the time - suspect one is rather happier than the other now....

That does look nice mark . ... Mk3 S prices are well on the up . I should be finishing my factory black one by dec/ jan . ... They seem to be overtaking mk2 S prices and easier to sell .... Ken

Did they turn it down due to the asking price or was it not as "pristine" as described by the owner ?.

A number of years ago I test drove a 71 S.
Was a great runner and in A1 shape….but at the time I thought the $3500 asking price was too much.

This, apparently is a works replica:

The only thing it appears to have in common with a works car is that it is red and white..... :o :o :o
