Thanks gents - lovely shot that Stu thanks for sharing it! There must be a news footage archive online somewhere, it was an ITV news crew who doorstepped the Fabs in December '66 when Lennon rolled up in his black Radford 'LGF 696D'...

As it motors in through the gate it looks as though it definitely has the same rear light treatment as Paul's car.

Lennon's does have those horrific Aston rear lights. Clearly seen in shot here.

Found a couple of photos of the dash - I sold it to a guy in Northern France: he subsequently resold it - these are his photos from his listing (that is his carpet too!)

I've been chatting with a chap on a facebook group (I know, I know) on London in the '60s who shared a flat in Maida Vale with Scott Walker in '67, he says that Scott had a Mk1 Mini in maroon with black glass which he passed on to him when Scott bought a VW Beetle, I'm just wondering wether it was a Radford or not. I knew that Scott had a Mini in '67 but not one fitting this description. I've asked the chap for more details but he doesn't remember much else about it.

If it's the same car I've seen pictures of, I'll go halves on a bottle of eye-bleach with you.

Look at the Pat & Tina on that...!
I've not seen any contemporary shots of the rear of that car, so hard to tell if it's unchanged from original (pre resto I mean).

Interesting that the badges have been put on so wonky, you'd not think that was done at Radford (they probably masked round 'em! ) when it was black or even when it was repainted psychedelic. I wonder if it had the boot lid replaced at some point?
Harrison did keep it outside under a tree by all accounts and at one point was just a home for his potted plants so not surprising it gained a little patina. Clapton owned it for a while in the early 70's aswell didn't he. Did it have an aerial on the back?

The badges are still pretty wonky and yes, shame the original plates have gone awol...

George in yet another Mini, looks like a '63 or '64 Super De Luxe, maybe the one that ended up 'orange'?

Was looking back at this thread - the original plates were Hills

Probably got Martha the gynormous sheepdog sitting in the back ;)

That was taken on 27th December '67, he'd just got back from the BBC at Shepards Bush after doing an interview about the Magical Mystery Tour film which was shown in black & white the night before, the critics panned it!

It was great to have a good mooch around the Beatles Minis at Goodwood, especially McCartney’s as I’d never seen it before. The Ringo car is getting more work done but Macca’s is just about there after a big rebuild and only made it to Goodwood at the 11th hour! Horner looked very pleased with it when he suddenly turned up with Geri and Bernie Ecclestone to show them the cars.
