Ok, for a Yank, this may be the most British thing I have ever seen

And...really? I mean, texting while driving is one thing. But putzing around with a kettle of boiling water, that's plugged in?!?

Multitasking for an adrenaline junkie
Let's see I can spill boiling water on myself, electrocute myself, get a face-full of steam and swerve off the road. Why the possibilities are endless!

Sounds like fun doesn't it!
We still don't need warnings on our coffee cups to tell us that if we pour the contents into our laps it hurts

im not sure, its a big bore in it and howley used to do a 1430 engine with a single 1 1/2 fitted, they made a very torquey powerful engine.
one of the most famous minis in Harrogate had a howley 1430 in it and it was unbeatable in its day

I agree, there's a few clues on that GT that point to it being a mid 1970s shell like the lack of boot board brackets and the body number plate on the slam panel looks like the smaller one as fitted to the later shells.

The 'GT' is certainly a later body. Big tank, rod box, etc. etc. Trim is wrong, clocks are wrong, the servo is missing bonnet prop is on the wrong side for that age of car.
Rings like a bell....

The van too. A 1962 wouldn't have those later sunvisors (almost impossible to fit to an earlier shell) or the courtesy light switches or the underbonnet solenoid and doubtless other details as well. The photos don't tell us if the van has a smooth or ribbed roof
