Very early Special Tuning 1275GT. I'm guessing it could be the Antelope car, but who knows.

Re: 1275 GT thread
Interesting that they have just slapped a S head on there and not bothered about the extra Stud / bolt? Also I notice there’s no breather on the clutch housing is that a bit unusual for 1275 GTs ?

Re: 1275 GT thread
That really must be a very early 1275GT image. I think the model was introduced in 1969 around the time of the BL takeover and the Mk3 s. Interesting BMC label on the rocker cover, maybe it was an early development model before launch.

Interesting that they chose to mount the coil correctly (vertically) but never stuck with it.
Obviously the inclusion of the servo after these photos will have forced their hand

It appears to be a ST label on the rocker cover.hanlminiman wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 6:10 pm That really must be a very early 1275GT image. Ronnie
My point was BMC vs BL.
"Of all the tuning companies offering parts to make your BMC car go faster, you would expect that the BMC Competitions department and later the Special Tuning or S.T. Department would have been one of the most influential and long lasting."

Re: 1275 GT thread
Amazing looking car. I'm surprised by his claim that a respray was carried out "because the lacquer was peeling" as a car that age would not have had a lacquer coat originally. It would be pretty remarkable to still have its original paint after all that time though: BL cars paint quality was not the best.

Re: 1275 GT thread
I wonder if anyone could please advise me on my GT hydrolastic suspension , I have fitted new copper pipes and one displaced has been checked and a new hose fitted by Somerford minis, the other 3 are the original ones, I have pumped the suspension up twice and used about three and a half litres of new fluid I measured the rears which was about 12 inches, but both times it has gone down, there are no visible leaks on the floor or any of the displaces or any pipe connections, I really would appreciate any advice anyone could offer me, thanks in advance.
