This is the works van my dad drove during his apprenticeship in the early 50's, delivering batteries all over the Stirlingshire area. Standard Vanguard. Working in the battery workshop, building batteries from the ground up was one of his first jobs before starting his proper apprenticeship.

I don't remember the Battery deliveries! but certainly remember Rossleigh, having lived all my life
until retirement, including the first 25 years of my working life in the Stirlingshire area.
I started my apprenticeship in a local garage at 15 in 1962, worked on a few Standard Vanguard
vans and cars, Rossleighs! bodyshop was always a wish job but a bit far to travel for me.

Where did you serve your apprenticeship ?. My dad worked in the trade in Stirling for over sixty years, the last 35 with his own garage business.

I served my apprenticeship, with a small Coachwork's in the village of Killearn, Stirlingshire, at the end of the 5years :D
I went to work in Holland for a few months! in 1971, then came back and took over the business, which I ran for about 15years as a
one man band, in that time got involved in a fair bit of Motor sport, building/spannering/ sponsoring /working on for other people,
Minis and some other makes, HappyDays .
I did deal with a lot of companies in and around the Stirling area.

And from my youth - Yeovilton Sprint, early seventies and a couple of Anglias. I can smell the Castrol R from here.

The photo in LeHaye intrigued me - the N30 was renamed N31 decades ago but I bet it hasn't changed that much. Foreign road trips must have been such an adventure back then.

That Sprinzel car looks familiar, he built two matching cars in black for a rock group in the early 70s, I'll dig out the photo I have of the two cars with the band, as I don't recognise the group!
