you would think at nearly five grand they would have taken the time to fit the fan the right way round - always the sign of a 'quality' restoration....

the engine bay is a bit 'humbroltastic' as well..............................

alloy doors???

really, I cannot see any rivets that hold them together???

I notice the name and address of the previous owner, im sure back in the mists of time this car was in miniworld with some claimed 'genuine downton' history that only he knew about due to secret message that he found under the headliner

it might be a different car (was a long time ago!), but it inspired me at the time to right 'genuine downton race car' behind the roof liner of my car with a sharpie

I thought the painting of the plastic brake master cylinder to look like metal was the low point.

Bit ironic the seller is called "books_discount". Mine is a signed copy, so should be worth double that

Anyone?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1964-classic- ... 1971036259

If all the panic about core stock prices going through the roof is actually true, my little collection of stuff based on values much lower than this item, gives me a pension pot of £106000.

Anyone care for a brandy....and a mint? 8-)

Just in case anyone is unaware - Sellers wack the price up to silly figures when they have sold all their stock but don't want to have to re-list the item for when the new stock arrives. Unless the buyer is stupid and wants to pay silly money, it avoids the seller receiving an order they can't fulfil in a sensible timescale. As regards 850 Mini engine at 5 grand - suspect it has been sold outside of Ebay but as it has received offers the seller is letting it run to avoid a cancellation. It was originally listed at £250....
