I run Norton on all my dvices and have yet to have any problems with my computer getting virus's. It's on auto update and I do back ground scans on my machines at least once a month. Even when the original MCR site had the Malware problem my Norton did not report any issues and I had no problems, whilst others were reporting that the site was being blocked.

It's not jut the new MCR site that has problems with IE, there are a couple of other forums that I use that have had problems as well, one being the Mini Forum. There were scripting issues on that site that would not let you copy text or links into the posting box. On Google there was no problem. The Mini Forum have now sorted the isse by having a patch put into their forum.

I have also heard that there have been issues with a recent Java update that has caused script errors on various sites, and don't forget these days almost eevry site you go on will leave a tracking cookie on your machine which wil track and send info back to the original host. If you run an older machine with an older processor then it will just be something else that slows it down.

This was posted with my vintage Fujitsu, running with an Intel Centrino, Windows XP and IE8, which at times is like using old dial up, but other times it's as quick as my modern Dell.

I was never taken with the MCR website but since I have joined again I have been enjoying the magazine. It seems to work fine with my iBall.

Is that because you're in it most months Tim? ;)

Hardly. It's reassuringly old fashioned. I feel guilty not having my pipe and slippers on when reading it

I've done a password reset and it all seems to be working again, I must admit it needs some background colour and the sub forums hidden away to simplify the look, but as I would have no clue how to do either I can only say thanks for all the efforts of those who have got it up and running again

Few niggles with the forum this morning - for some reason clicking on 'todays posts' didn't produce anything and clicking on a thread I wanted to reply to produced a similar result. Just wondering what the long-term plans for sorting the forum are though, as from speaking to other users at a club meet on Monday, most are still having problems to the extent that they're not visiting or posting on it anywhere near as much as they were in the past. Niall.

It's a shame as it was a great site. You can see the tumble weeds rolling around on it now.

I had a problem last night with opening some threads so I started a new thread to report the problems.

Hopefully after the housekeeping the forum will run better.
