Made loads of progress over the last two weeks. Out sills done, inner and out 'a' panels done, lower door steps and bottom quarter repairs done. The last bit to do is the drivers side inner wing and scuttle end. Then it will get ready for paint. Really happy to be making progress. Its been a while now.

Those welds look a bit thick. Puddle welds are they? Got to watch you don't thin the surrounding metal and reduce strength. Use as low a setting on a mig welder for puddle welds that you can get away with to not reduce the thickness of the surrounding upper panel with a weld. Better to drill the old spot weld out, fil it in, grind it flat, and old fashion spot weld it in between old spot welds. But with rust about can be difficult.

It's been a long time since I've posted an update. Been really busy with work but steadily getting things done. The shell is completely stripped now and ready for blasting before prepping for paint. I've rebuilt the heater, fabricated a dash panel and this evening I got a few coats of primer on my wheels.

Hi Daniel,
Nice to see you make progress.
The dash panel is looking good : which crackle paint did you use ?
I still have to do mine.
Also, don't you keep your front disk brakes ? Are they 7' Cooper disks ?
Kind regards,
Etienne

The wrinkle paint is VHT wrinkle plus. It is excellent. Highly recommended.

These wheels are mk3 steels and fit over my 7.5" Cooper S discs easily.

Thank you Daniel,
I didn't know those wheels would fit over S disks.
Should give a nice understated look.
