...and increase the track a bit to boot. I've banged on asking about this problem over the years and I don't think there is a simple answer

Strikes me that what was the posh 'S' option over the standard arrangement is doomed to failure. I mean "Do the nut as tight as is humanly possible and then some more" is setting some sort of serious stress in the whole arrangement.

The nut was still on the thread , it,s just that the the threaded end of the CV had snapped off . That happened right in front of us , Bill Sollis was driving and still managed to put it on pole .

Drive flange was still in the wheel

Avec le Weber???

It's obvious that your cheating posh shaved front tyres work Rich. Next time... :)

Sounds great though, and I would've thought that the power deficit would be more clear. Great going!!

I'll get some pictures up.

it went great, did over 500 miles, cruising happily at 50mph and doing about 16mpg

it did start to use a bit of water on the way back, but we where able to keep topping it up from the on board water tanks, so no real issue.

the rad has got a leak in it somewhere, so ive currently got it in bits, i got a new thermostat for it as well as i think that was sticking

ive got a spare rad, which also has a leak, so next time im off work im going to take it to the rad shop and hope the guy can fix it cheap.

nothing beats been able to sit in the comfort and dry, whilst it arsed it down with rain outside all night, its a thousand times better than a tent, thats for sure
